Hello! I’m an author and playwright who grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, before fleeing the snow to settle in Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve written more than two dozen plays, which have seen hundreds of productions across the country and around the world. As an actor myself, I love hearing from those involved in my plays, so feel free to shoot me a message! My favorite acting roles include Sergeant Trotter in The Mousetrap and Father Flynn in Doubt, a Parable.
As a recovering physicist, I spent many years doing database reporting and analysis for non-profits before focusing on writing and parenting. I am now a freelance writer and editor with The Editor Garden, with a particular love for middle grade novels. A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), I currently lead the SCBWI Jacksonville Critique Group. My novel GRAVITY AND MONSTERS was a winner in the 2017 Revise & Resub contest (#RevPit), and my middle grade mystery JUSTICE AT THE ZOO was selected for Pitch Wars 2018 by mentor G. Z. Schmidt.
I love a good cup of tea (milk, no sugar), and when I’m not writing, you can find me hanging out on the beach with my family, practicing Taekwondo (my son and I are second degree black belts), traveling, and of course reading.
