About Me

Hello! I’m an author and playwright who grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, before fleeing the snow and ice to settle in Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve written more than two dozen plays, which have seen hundreds of productions across the country and all seven continents. As an actor myself, I love hearing from those involved in my plays, so feel free to shoot me a message! My favorite acting roles include Sergeant Trotter in The Mousetrap and Father Flynn in Doubt, a Parable.

As a recovering physicist, I’ve spent many years doing database reporting and analysis for non-profits. I’ve also worked as a freelance writer and editor, and I once held the job title of Mad Scientist. A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), I led the SCBWI Jacksonville Critique Group for seven years. My novel GRAVITY AND MONSTERS was a winner in the Revise & Resub contest (#RevPit), and my middle grade mystery JUSTICE AT THE ZOO was selected for Pitch Wars by mentor G. Z. Schmidt. THE DINOWRANGLERS was a finalist in the SCBWI Florida Rising Kite Contest, and THE MARTIAN ODYSSEY OF AMELIA COLLINS was longlisted for the WriteMentor Novel Awards.

I love a good cup of tea (milk, no sugar), and when I’m not writing, you can find me hanging out on the beach with my family, practicing Taekwondo (my son and I are both black belts), traveling, and of course reading. I’m a member of the Habit and scribble the occasional story on Substack for Tales from the Warrenfast.
